Thats what the garage is for most of us, and as such you should treat your house(Garage) like you want to work there.
Superintendents,Supervisors and GUs are constantly trying to keep this place safe and clean for everybody 24/7, the least you can do, is don’t make it worst.
What’s involved is no joke, the responsibility is enormous and the chances of something going wrong depends on everybody in that garage. So don’t make it worse.

    The most frustrating of all sometimes, again, I believe this is everybody’s responsibility and with that said “Don’t make it worse”. Hint: Get the Super and Snow Super to help with manpower if you need it.

  • Fuel and LubricantsKeep track of Inventory

    • Keep Fuel and Lubricant Book updated
    • Check at start and at end of  shift to see if you need to order something.
    • Order Fuel and Lubricants early before you run out.
    • Do inventory everyday.
    • Get your GU involved.
  • Record KeepingThis could help if you stay on top of it!
    • Filing: To keep this function going smooth, do it everyday or at least weekly.
    • You’re going to need folders up the gazoo, legal size five drawer lateral might be your best bet.
    • You have choices with every piece of paper: Take action,File it or Chuck it!
    • Get your Clerk involved.
  • EquipmentKeep track, do an 02!
    • Check your FFM at start of shift.
    • Run an 02 at start of shift and at end to give to next shift and check for anything wrong.
    • Get your GU involved.
  • CommunicationStay in touch, I don’t hear you!
    •  Check Radios,Phones,GPS units,Laptops and Desktops for usability and condition(Are they working).
    •  Make your calls early.
  • MechanicsDSNY Angels
    • Check your FFM at start of shift.
    • Run an 02 at start of shift and at end to give to next shift and check for anything wrong.
    • Get your GU involved.
  • ClerksI don’t know what we do without them 🙂

  • ToolsEvery shift should have their own stash!
    • Inventory daily
    • Order tools early
    • Have a private stash! Oops that I say that 🙂
    • Grab all tools laying around.
    • Get your GU involved.
  • Sanitation WorkersFriend or Foe, who goes there?
