Leadership Principles

Application to Purchase Credit for Military Service

Some things to keep in mind when purchasing military service.

  1. You can use your Defer Comp. account to purchase, just call Defer Comp. and they will take care of the transaction.
  2. You must have 15 completed on the job to receive the benefit, not one day short of this time, or you will lose your investment, please confirm with NYCERS on this provision.
  3. Amount to be paid is calculated by the prior 12 months of application, so buy back when you had a year that you did not make that much.
