God, be merciful to my friend,
For his is a gentle soul,
He comforted so many,
Now is his time to be comforted, Oh merciful God, bless his kindness,
And place him at your side for he will look out for you also.
Bless the Frosch family and may God look out for them forever and ever.
Thank you Steve for everything.

Stephen FroschA Message from Commissioner Garcia:

As you know, the Department lost Sanitation Worker Steven Frosch on Saturday June 21, 2014 in a terrible accident at the Queens West 5A garage. He was a fifteen year veteran of the department who leaves behind a wife and four children. Visits to his garage reveal a man deeply admired and loved by his colleagues, many of whom were his dear friends. We are all reminded that this is a dangerous job that requires constant vigilance for ourselves, our partners, and the public. And it is a job without which the city could not exist. At its core, what we do protects public health, safety and the environment.I just wanted to take a moment to convey my heartfelt condolences not only to his family but to the many among you who were his friends. This will be a week of mourning, but I have already seen the strength and compassion for our fellow employees as we grieve. Together we will support one another through this difficult and tragic time.

Dennis HanleyS.W. Dennis Hanley, recently deceased fell just shy of his 30 year pension by 7 weeks. Dennis has been sick for 2 years with terminal cancer and came to work so he could leave his pension for his wife and three young children. S.W. Dennis Hanley, was exemplary in his career having only gone sick twice in 30 years. He was an upstanding citizen, family man and co-worker.

Please help Dennis Hanley achieve his final wish of leaving his pension to his family. A pension he worked for for nearly 30 years.

Thank you.
