*Every three months you get a Quarterly Statement from NYCERS.
*Save them, then put your Social Security Number on them, *make copies and mail in as soon as you have the full years worth to:

*In April you will get a check, it will be for 1000 if regular pension under 65. If over 65 you will get 1100 If you have the Ryder.
*If you retire in the middle of the year and do not get all (4) Quarterly Statements, then mail in the months you get.
*October thru December must be sent in!
*If you are missing a quarterly pension pay stub statement, call the Retirement System @ 347-643-3000 ask for the Missing Print Out.

Vacation
If you have proof you will be away, they give you makeup date. If you are still willing to take it, city will move your vacation day.
What if that day is your Vacation Chart?
You’ll get pay for the day, city will change your chart.
If you’re scheduled for the exam on your Chart, do you get hours?
Taking promotional exams on chart gets 8 hours.
Religion
Sabbath Observers
A candidate claiming to be unable to participate in an examination when originally scheduled because of the candidate’s religious beliefs may seek consideration as a sabbath observer by requesting a special examination by submitting to the department of citywide administrative services or examining agency such request in writing either in person or by certified or registered mail no later than five days prior to the date of the examination. A written statement signed by the candidate’s religious leader attesting to the candidate’s religious beliefs and certifying that the candidate is a sabbath observer and that it is contrary to the candidate’s tenets to participate in an examination during the sabbath must accompany said written request.
Note: Exam is your duty for the day, proof of attendance is mandatory, if you miss you will not be paid, considered awol, xwp or other. Always check with your Supers Clerk and Shop Steward about this situation!
